Just discovered a really nifty program, and apparently its been around since last fall too. Ever since SE had the FFXIV Windower Project shut down, I've been playing in windowed mode so I could tab out. Playing in full screen and attempting to tab out will still kill the game ~ I really wish SE wouldn't make these dumb decisions. If someone is going to cheat or use a bot program, they'll find a way regardless, and it just makes it rough on those of us that play legit.
Borderless Windowed Mode
I've tried this program and it works great, though the instruction were a little difficult to understand at first cause the resolution options already provided were not any I use. I play in 1600*1200. There is an optional file that it editable with notepad that is mentioned, where you can set your own resolution:
!^f::
WinSet, Style, -0xC40000, A
WinMove, A, , 0, 0, 1600, 1200
;WinActivate, A
return
Just change the numbers I highlighted above and save the file. Then right click the file and choose "Run Script" Start FFXIV and use the command mentioned CTRL + ALT + F. The rather annoying windows border is now gone as well as the taskbar, and the tabbing in and out is flawless and very quick.
I've also been playing EQII Extended and when tabbing in and out of that game seems to take like 3-5 seconds and nearly locks up my PC ~ never does but it looks like it may. This script works there as well, and I've tried it on a few other games that tend not to tab out very quickly to great success! This script is now running on my PC indefinitely!
